It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's...

ORBIS HOSPITAL!!!
Just about the coolest hospital I ever did see. This flying medical facility was created in 1980 with the purpose of providing care to blind or visually impaired individuals in the developing world whose medical facilities don't have the level of care needed to treat people in their country. It's a world tour people! And everyone's feeling better.

The first time ORBIS went into air was in 1982 and since people from Cameroon to the Central African Republic have been receiving eye care for ailments such as glaucoma, blindness, and much more!

Now everyone can receive treatment thanks to Dr. David Paton who created ORBIS in 1980  to deliver medical supplies. Now eyecare is the focus as ORBIS. In fact, in Cameroon 25% of people needing cataract surgery are able to get treated...AWESOME!!

The services are available for children but adults can get treated too!

So next time you look up in the sky, it might not be Virgin Airlines but the most forward thinking ophthalmology facility you've heard of!

Symbols of White Dominance in 2014?

O...M...G

Oh my goodness gracious, the morals have fallen. what's wrong with this photo?
Tastless maybe? She could know better she's the editor of Garage magazine sitting on a chair shaped as a black woman. Really though? What justification would she have for this. I can't wait to hear her excuse. Some in the fashion world are calling this a symbol of "white dominance. Click HERE to read more.

Memorial Homecoming for our Madiba

Winnie Mandela at Nelson Mandela's memorial.

They say your greatest work doesn't show when you're alive but after your death when the world can view your legacy. Mandela had a remarkable legacy. In bitter rain and cold, his memorial brings a crowd of 95,000 strong. The South African country did not make today a national Holiday in respect of Mandela's wishes. This along with the wether had an effect on the crowd that was supposed to fill the World Cup stadium as well as other overflow stadiums. Even so, people continued to trickle in to remember a great leader of our time. Included in the crowd were Winnie Mandela and President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria (who can't seem to find a new wardrobe...but anyway) Thabo Mbeki, Kofi Anaan, Desmond Tutu and other forward thinking African leaders were in the crowd.

Obama arrives in South Africa

President Obama and the US delegation have at this time arrived. However, they've yet to arrive at the stadium. Mandela's  memorial opened with a welcoming address from Ramaphosa and now an interfaith prayer which is absolutely beautiful. If you aren't watching now try and take some time out to watch a previous recording. I love you for reading I'm gonna go enjoy this treat. RIP Madiba

Oh my my my....The events that have happened today have been long awaited. Trayvon Martin's murderer Zimmerman has been charged with 2nd Degree murder and is currently being held without bail after turning himself into authorities earlier today.
Well it's about time...Isn't it? Zimmerman used the "Stand your Ground" Law; allowing one to shoot and (possibly) kill another person on the basis of "feeling threatened.", as his defense to kill Martin. Trayvon Martin was walking to his home holding candy and an ice tea. All we asked for was for his killer, Zimmerman to be brought to justice.

Desolved:
February 28th-Trayvon Martin 17 shot
March 13th Police chief says Zimmerman won't be charged
March 15th-Police release 911 tapes
March 19th investigation lauched
March 22nd-police chief "steps aside"
March 23-Obama announces "If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon"
March 28-29 Zimmerman's father and brother appear on Television
April 11th-Zimmerman turns himself in and charged

We have signed petitions, we have stood in the cold and NOW justice is done. Though we had leaders on our side recognition must be established. Young people like myself, or even younger than me are responsible for not letting this case be ignored.
VICTORY IS OURS!! VICTORY IS OURS!! Martin your death is NOT in vain.

OH....MY....GOD

You know, when the people of Libya revolted against Gaddaffi I really did think they wanted a more tolerant leader. Maybe they do....but why this? You are looking at the back of a black Libyan. Since the revolts, there have been reports of migrant workers from sub-Saharan Africa and their passports being seized;thus barring them from returning to their homes. However THIS is wrong on so many levels. Arabs are already rumored to be racist against darker skinned individuals. Does THIS help that rumor and if it doesn't then why is this being done?
Disgusting.

Well well well, they finally did it. Someone finally made Obama angry and he has reportedly STORMED OUT(!!) of a meeting that was supposed to negotiate raising the debt ceiling. Oh well, I guess they took a brotha there...more to come.
