Oh my my my....The events that have happened today have been long awaited. Trayvon Martin's murderer Zimmerman has been charged with 2nd Degree murder and is currently being held without bail after turning himself into authorities earlier today.
Well it's about time...Isn't it? Zimmerman used the "Stand your Ground" Law; allowing one to shoot and (possibly) kill another person on the basis of "feeling threatened.", as his defense to kill Martin. Trayvon Martin was walking to his home holding candy and an ice tea. All we asked for was for his killer, Zimmerman to be brought to justice.

Desolved:
February 28th-Trayvon Martin 17 shot
March 13th Police chief says Zimmerman won't be charged
March 15th-Police release 911 tapes
March 19th investigation lauched
March 22nd-police chief "steps aside"
March 23-Obama announces "If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon"
March 28-29 Zimmerman's father and brother appear on Television
April 11th-Zimmerman turns himself in and charged

We have signed petitions, we have stood in the cold and NOW justice is done. Though we had leaders on our side recognition must be established. Young people like myself, or even younger than me are responsible for not letting this case be ignored.
VICTORY IS OURS!! VICTORY IS OURS!! Martin your death is NOT in vain.

OCCUPY WALLSTREET in Baltimore, MD

The Occupy movement as you've read is worldwide. However, each country-and even city- has their own reasons for protesting. I went to the Occupy Wallstreet movement in Baltimore two weeks ago. Here's what I had to say.

Okay Liberia : Clapping and rolling my eyes LOL

Oh my my my. It looks like Liberia is having a wonderful time. It's been staying out of Human Rights troubles, and 2 of their women have won Nobel Prizes. Yes, President Sirleaf (left) and activist Leymah Gbowee (right...hmm look at Gbowee....African mouth. Anyway (more recently) it's been conducting very very peaceful elections. Just yesterday the election took place between President Sirleaf of Liberia and a former Diplomat who's running mate just happens to be a former athlete (hmmm...sound familiar anyone? fake cough: Republican Party). I don't know why everyone thinks fame leads to political office!!! Oh well. Back to Liberia: President Sirleaf has been making waves since her election, but proud Mama Bear (as described by Huffington Post) is securing her Presidential seat by promoting gender equality among many other things. Let's sit back and sip koolaid. After years of political turmoil this sun has definately come out for Liberia.

Of course she denied it saying Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange, belongs in an asylum.

Bashir and the ICC, another round of battle (DING DING!!)

In an event that shouldn't surprise any of us, Sudanese leader King Bashir's genocide charges are being reconsidered. The ICC is considering adding three additional charges of genocide. The prosecutors at the ICC stated that Bashir's government sought to eradicate three ethnic groups: the Fur, Masalit, and Zaghawa peoples. It is noted that if these charges are brought against Bashir, it will mark the first time that ICC charges are brought against a sitting head of state. Since 2003 the UN has recorded approximately 300,000 people have died in the Darfur conflict.

Government officials have snubbed their nose at the possibility of change in the ruling saying that it is propaganda for Sudan's upcoming election in April. The African Union has continued to support Bashir since Bashir's arrest warrant in March 2009 and so have other leaders. This is apparent as Bashir has travelled to other countries, courting support. At the time of which reconsideration of his charges was announced, Bashir was in Qatar.
