Westernized? ...or NOT

Something has happened in Africa and it is rejected because of ludeness/chauvinism....words we Africans use when trying to show that WE have values. You know...not like y'all westerners (lol). What happened? A store started selling funny shirts with controversial slogans on it....Don't worry, they were pulled off the shelf. One of the shirts displayed an acronym for the word 'Single'

I actually thought it was funny. However, human rights groups, feminists, and anti-HIV groups didn't find humor at all.
I don't know. Doesn't South Africa have better things to worry about? Well...I guess sometimes you CAN knock the hustle.

OCCUPY WALLSTREET in Baltimore, MD

The Occupy movement as you've read is worldwide. However, each country-and even city- has their own reasons for protesting. I went to the Occupy Wallstreet movement in Baltimore two weeks ago. Here's what I had to say.

Is the ANC innocent?

No Ladies and Gents you are not looking at an episode of "The Game" with Hosea Sanchez (a lot of us remember the scene with sushi girl in the stripper room of his mansion i know i do anyway...) you are looking at a picture from the 40th bday party of South African millionaire and business man Kunene. Picture below.

Kenny Kunene is a former convict turned business man who opened a nightclub called ZAR. Accusing Helen Zille, leader of the opposition party DA of trying to close down all nightclubs, Kunene announced that his club "belongs to the ANC." ANC South Africa's ruling political party. The ANC was not amused in the least and is now announcing that they don't condone eating sushi off of models' barely naked bodies. Mr. Kunene (picture below) said he won't be throwing sushi parties for long.

Hmmmm maybe the ANC party is just saying this, because of the upcoming election. Women make up a large population of the electorate and having their party's name thrown out in support of such shovenistic and defamatory activity can harm their party's name. Well, I still have my popcorn, because African politics is always entertaining and I can't wait to see what (because it will) happen next.

Yes Zuma, saying you're actually sorry is humorous

Well after telling the world that his "sexual affairs" were none of our business, Zuma has issued an apology to his family and those who he feels he has hurt the most. I almost laughed as much as he is in this picture.

President Zuma...say it isn't so!!!

I know that as I write about Foreign Affairs this article is supposed to be...beneath me. However, I can't stop myself from finding President Zuma's private issues quite entertaining. Just when we thought it was over!!! When we thought that after his message about gender equality, Mr. Zuma has turned a new leaf, President Zuma has found his way back to my entertainment. Mr. Zuma (67) has a love child with Sonono Khoza (39). If her last name sounds familiar to you, it's because her father is World Cup boss Irvin Khoza. It is also reported that President Zuma has paid for the pregnancy; an action which he says is in line with his Zulu culture. There have also been calls for him to attend sex rehab...hmm. According to local Sowetan newspapers, Reverend Kenneth Meshoe, leader of the African Christian Democratic Party has stated that the child is "a sign that Mr. Zuma is not using condoms..." Hmmmm You don't say. Between his three wives, President Zuma has nineteen (19) children. Well...maybe he'll turn the woman into wife number four and it won't be so scandalous anymore.
