Pink Rupee?? What's that?

Sanjay Malhotra, Owner Indjapink
Okay, so those of you who know me, know that I not only love but ABSOLUTELY ADORE the color pink. However, even this has me at a loss of words. In India, the move to become more "gay friendly" has caused a surge in the "Pink Rupee." Many of us know that the Rupee is the official currencly of the highly populated country. However, why use the Pink Rupee you ask? Well, "using the pink rupee" in India is now a term synonymous to businesses opening their services towards homsexuals. However, if some of these businesses do not want to, some homosexuals have started their own.For example, IndjaPink is an all gay operated travel agency, run by Sanjay Malhotra, that provides services exclusively to the gay community. Professing the reason behind the success of his business, Mr. Malhotra stated that people began to realize that homosexuals, not beign married, have a lot of disposable income and like having the finer things in life.
Hmm, but has India really changed? Or is this one point of view? Even though there are businesses that are cating to the gay community and homosexuals going to night clubs, it does not exactly mean that many of these individuals are openly comfortable with their sexuality. In the video shown on BBC, the owner of a gay night club refused to cooperate in an interview with the journalist showing that a lot of things may be said in theory, but aren't performed in practice....I'm just sayin'
