It has come to my attention that Ambassador Richard C. Holbrooke has passed at the age of 69 years old. Holbrooke was the American special advisor to Afghanistan and Pakistan in the current Obama administration. Before this he served as the American ambassador to the UN and as President Clinton's Secretary of State. A resume expanding decades, Holbrooke is said to have worked for every Democratic President since the 1960s.He is very famous for brokering the peace deal for the Bosnian war.
It is a shock to the international community. It has shaken our ground to hear that such a figure has passed. The news first came that Amb. Holbrooke had a torn aorta on Friday at the Department of State. On Saturday he had a 20 hour surgical operation after which he was still reported to be suffering from complications.
...Someone who creates peace deserves to rest in peace and not from complications. And though it makes me sad to see that he's no longer with us, I can only pray that his legacy will live on in a positive light and that God be with his family.
God be with him and may he Rest in Peace (Amen).
