What do OJ Simpson and Sakineh Ashtiani have in common?

Remember OJ's book "If I did it?" You know, the one where he said that he DIDN'T do it, but IF he did then this is how he'd do it? Yeah that one. Well in Iran it got even better. See, Ashtiani didn't have to write a book, ohh no she made a video which aired on TV 10 December, 2010.

Ashtiani was dating two men in 2006, right after her husband died and then people said "Wait a minute! her husband just died, That's not right! " And she was convicted for having an "illicit relationship." A crime for which she received 99 lashes (ouch). Then they arrested her for having an affair, because they said she admitted to having an affair. She retracted this admission saying that it was said under duress (I bet it was). So the punishment for an affair is stoning. She was to be stoned, but Human Rights groups stood up and were like "WTF!!! What are you doing? This is barbaric! How can this be done in the new millenium!!" Then the Iranian government was like hmmmmm and came public with a statment that Ashtiani "committed murder."
Some are saying that the issue of murder just came up so that the government can have a reason to stone Ashtiani. Ashtiani has admitted that she aided and abeted a hitman in her husband's murder. The government says that she will be put to death by hanging instead of stoning. I guess that will make her feel better...whatever.
Anyway so this is how we came to the idea of the "If I did it" video. Ashtiani was to reenact how she used a needle to make her husband unconscious before the hitman (Taheri) came to the house and electrocuted him. She starred as herself in the video. Above is the still image of her filling the needle in the video. The government has yet to sentence Ashtiani for murder.
